A musical delight by Coke Studio@MTV

It’s a show that will bringalive the magic of live recordings and of songs that have already made a placefor themselves in the hearts of music lovers in our country. This fusion musicproject, will premiere tonight and will air every Friday at 7pm onMTV.The show will have performances by artistes like Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Colonial Cousins, Shaan, Shafqat Aamant Ali along with folks legends of the likes of Khogen Da, Wadali Borthers, Rashid Khan, Sabri Brothers and young talents. The launch of Coke Studio in India was officially announced at a glitzy event hosted in Delhi. While actor Imran Khan’s entry made everyone jump in surprise, live performances by Kailash Kher and Shankar Mahadevan among others had the guests singing along, cheering and applauding.Talking about how the show isdifferent from other reality and music shows on TV, Shankar said,“India’s music is diverse and rich. Coke Studio will bring togetherthese totally different genres and present an unexpected and soul-stirringexperience.” Aditya Swamy, channel head, MTV India, added, “Thisshow directed by Leslie Lewis has an eclectic mix of artistes. It has a liveband and also a hitherto un-heard of use of musical instruments. This show willgive exposure to all genres of music in India.”Here, filmimusicians will be collaborating with legendary folk musicians and young gunsadding spice to the show.
